About YardTally

YardTally builds free, single-purpose calculators for home and yard projects — figuring out how much soil fills a raised bed, how many sheets of drywall a room needs, or how many cubic yards of mulch, gravel, or concrete to order.

Each tool runs entirely in your browser. We don't require an account and we don't upload your inputs to a server. Every result shows the formula and the assumptions behind it — and a clear bag count and bulk cubic-yard figure — so you can check the math and buy the right amount once.

Who makes this

YardTally is an independent project built and maintained by a solo developer. We focus on doing a handful of material calculators really well, keeping them free, and being transparent about how each estimate is produced.

How we keep it free

We show advertising and, on some pages, affiliate links to relevant products (such as soil, drywall, or tools). These never change the quantity a calculator gives you.

A note on estimates

Our calculators are estimates based on standard volume and coverage math. Real projects vary with settling, compaction, waste, supplier bag sizes, and site conditions. Always confirm against your supplier's coverage figures and add a waste allowance before ordering.
